Sprint Group delivers culinary excellence at Sexy Fish in Manchester

Manchester, a city known for its vibrant culture and dynamic culinary scene, recently welcomed a new player to its gastronomic landscape – Sexy Fish Manchester.

Located at 1 The Avenue, Deansgate, Manchester M3 3AP, this upscale dining establishment promises a unique experience that goes beyond the ordinary. Behind the scenes, Sprint Group, a leading name in kitchen solutions, played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this high-profile project.

The scope of Sprint’s involvement was extensive, covering the supply and installation of kitchen cooking equipment (excluding the main cook suite and associated supply equipment), stainless steel fabrication for ground and first-floor kitchens, coldroom/freezer rooms with remote refrigeration and the back-of-house glasswash and bar dispense areas.

Sprint faced the challenge of translating approved kitchen layouts, provided by the client’s design consultant, into comprehensive working drawings. These drawings included annotated services and schedules for all site installation trades to follow. The front-of-house main bar, along with the back-of-house glasswash and bar dispense areas, required Sprint to secure client approvals for layouts and equipment specifications, adding an extra layer of complexity to the project.

Mark Chillingworth, Sprint’s Project Manager, emphasised the significance of regular client meetings throughout the project. These sessions, involving project team members and Sprint representatives, played a crucial role in covering the Manchester location’s unique aspects. Sprint took responsibility for site-specific dimensions and services locations, facilitating the seamless fabrication of stainless-steel items in alignment with equipment installation.

Collaboration with the main building contractor and other site trades, such as ventilation, mechanical, and electrical teams, was essential. Sprint’s dedication to detail, from adhering to delivery schedules to coordinating various site installation teams, ensured the project stayed within the client’s budget and construction program, meeting the demanding requirements of a high-profile venture.

Mark commended the Sprint team’s dedication and professionalism, highlighting their ability to deliver a fit-for-purpose kitchen and front-of-house bar installation. The successful collaboration paved the way for Sexy Fish Manchester to open its doors to an eagerly waiting public, showcasing Sprint Group’s commitment to excellence in culinary infrastructure.

Mark concludes: “The high-profile nature and demands of this project added pressures on to the Sprint team requiring a greater attention to detail from delivery schedules, manufacturing of s/steel items and co-ordination of the many site installation teams, all of which came through with dedication and professionalism to provide the client with a successful installation.”
