Sprint Group have chalked up yet another success in the shape of a chalk-shaped bar and kitchen for the Wiston Estate.
The Wiston Estate recently announced the opening of a new restaurant, tasting room and cellar door shop at the North Farm winery site in West Sussex. Chalk Restaurant and Tasting Room opened its doors to the public on 7th December, serving guests breakfasts and lunches from 8.00 to 17.00. Dinner service will commence in spring 2022.
Chalk Restaurant occupies a renovated 18th Century threshing barn which has been expertly restored and transformed to create a warm and welcoming space, with room to host 60 guests, including a private dining room for 10.
As part of the project, Sprint Group designed, delivered and installed the kitchen and bar – which is uniquely chalk shaped – cold room and kitchen ventilation systems.
Ian Bryant, Sprint’s Sales Director, explains: “We love a challenge and were delighted to be invited to design such a creative concept. The final result is breath-taking and we encourage everyone to visit.”
Alongside the restaurant and tasting room, there are also a series of mapped walks around the land, which take in the vineyards, ancient grain fields and the legendary Chanctonbury Ring, plus picnic spots for the warmer months, with picnics available to order from Chalk Restaurant.
Sprint Group’s Projects Director Tony Dickinson and the projects team used equipment from brands including Maidaid, Hoshizaki, EAIS, Lincat and Smeg to complete their installation.
Richard Goring, CEO of Wiston Estate said: “We are incredibly excited about this development at North Farm. We hope Chalk will be a major step in our mission to open up the estate and welcome people here, as well as showing off the wonderful produce which this land gives us.”
