Casey leads the way

Kidderminster motorcross rider Casey Buckley, who is sponsored by Sprint Group, continues to go great guns in the Wilden MX Club winter championship.

In his latest weekend of racing, Casey finished third overall. However, as the top three riders didn’t compete, Casey is now the championship leader.

Many thanks to Casey’s mum Lorraine and his fiancee Kirstie Rollason for keeping us updated on his progress and supplying the action photos.

As Bullseye host Jim Bowen would say: “Great, smashing, super.”

Our Becky is Power List unsung hero

Becky Webley - Copy

It’s celebration time at Sprint Group as our finance department manager Becky Webley is one of ten Unsung Heroes in Catering Insight magazine’s Power List 2016.

Becky follows in the footsteps of operations director Ross Ryan, who was recognised as a Young Trailblazer in 2015.

There are very few roles Becky hasn’t fulfilled during her 12 years at Sprint Group and she has played a key role in our success.

Becky’s Sprint story began in October 2004 when she joined a team of five. Over the last decade, she has seen the company expand rapidly as we now employ more than 50 people.

Now managing the finance department at our Pershore HQ and with a great team supporting her, Becky has worked in every department.

The many hats she has worn during her long and varied Sprint Group career include: Sales, purchasing, HR, service, IT, fleet management, logistics, health and safety, PA to company founder and managing director David Ryan, stock control – and not forgetting cleaner and caterer.

As we have continued to grow and attract new business over the past 12 months, Becky’s skills have been increasingly in demand as she has a thorough understanding of the company’s internal operations – the phrase “Ask Becky” can be heard many times around the office on a daily basis!

The full Catering Insight Power List 2016 can be viewed here.

Becky is profiled on Page 59.

Albert’s Schloss and Flight Club target awards

Congratulations to Sprint Group clients Albert’s Schloss and Flight Club, who have both been shortlisted for prestigious Restaurant and Bar Design Awards for 2015-16.

Located in hip Manchester, Bohemian pleasure palace Albert’s Schloss is among seven contenders in the restaurant and bar in a heritage building category.

Shoreditch-based social darts venue Flight Club, one of the capital’s most talked about bars, has four rivals in the London bar category.

All category winners will be announced at the London awards event at the Old Truman Brewery, on September 29.

Award success at the double for Sprint

Sprint Group has been named Precision Refrigeration’s UK Dealer of the Year Award for the second year running.

Company founder and managing director David Ryan was presented with the trophy by his Precision counterpart Nick Williams.

Mr Williams said: ” The guys at Sprint fully deserve this accolade. They deliver first rate support to us and their customers.”

Casey is a winner in the style stakes

Sponsorship from Sprint Group has ensured that motocross rider Casey Buckley’s appearance on the track now matches his ability and passion.

The Kidderminster teenager, an enthusiastic member of Wilden MX Club, has just had new graphics installed on his bike and his smart racing gear illustrates that he’s red-dy to tear up the track.

“Casey would like to think everyone at Sprint Group for their support,” said his proud mum Lorraine.

“He had a great day on the bike at the weekend as we enter practising and is keen to improve on a few aspects of his riding before the competitive races get under way again.”

Motocross ace Casey secures podium place

Motocross rider Casey Buckley, who is sponsored by Sprint Group, has finished in third place in Wilden MX Club’s winter championships.

Competing in spring sunshine on a track that was boggy in places, the teenager from Kidderminster produced some excellent performances and even overcame a puncture in the last race to finish second overall on the day.

Proud mum Lorraine Buckley said: “We’re delighted that Casey managed to secure a podium place as he has had bike problems throughout the winter.

“Casey would like to thank Sprint Group for supporting him. He is now enjoying a deserved two-week break before the start of the summer championships.”

Sprint Group support is ride on time for Casey

Casey Buckley

Teenage motocross rider Casey Buckley can now look forward to a winning 2016 thanks to sponsorship from Sprint Group.

The 18-year-old from Kidderminster, who is an enthusiastic member of Wilden MX Club, developed a passion for bikes at an early age. He has been taking part in the sport for five years thanks to practical and moral support from family members and, in particular, his mum Lorraine.

“Casey lives for racing and would be out on his 250cc bike all the time if he had the chance,” said Lorraine.

“So far he has won the annual club championship and been runner-up. He’s very determined and has a real desire to win.”

Lorraine explained that Casey, who has an older brother and sister, has had learning and communication difficulties since birth. He has ADHD and is on the autistic spectrum.

“This generous sponsorship will make a huge difference,” she said. “It will pay for a new kit for Casey and will also help us cover race entry fees and bike parts and maintenance. The Sprint Group logo will appear on Casey’s kit, bike and van.”

Sprint Group founder and managing director David Ryan said: “We are delighted to support Casey as his motocross career takes off.

“There is strong synergy here as the Sprint Group team regularly overcomes difficulties to deliver outstanding results, just like Casey does when he is racing.”

Over the coming months, we’ll be charting Casey’s progress on the Sprint Group website and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
