Ian Bryant moves up to sales director role

Sprint Group has appointed a new sales director as part of its ambitious growth strategy.

Experienced industry professional Ian Bryant joined the company as sales manager (south) in June.

Ian, who has worked in the catering equipment sector for 20 years including seven years as sales director at The Carford Group, will head up the sales force.

“My role will include putting in place strategies for long term growth and looking at how we take the business forward,” he said.

“We are very strong in the restaurant and bar sector so I will be identifying opportunities in other areas such as hotels, leisure and care homes.”

Managing director Tom Bartley-Smith added: “Ian’s promotion is yet another positive step for the future of Sprint Group and reaffirms our commitment to delivering outstanding projects across the UK.

Sprint fit the Bill’s for mall project

Sprint Group’s thriving relationship with contemporary European chain Bill’s continues with a recent fit out in Northamptonshire.

Our design and installation team installed a commercial kitchen and bar on time and within budget for the fast-growing chain at Rushden Lakes shopping centre.

The new Bill’s opened its doors to customers on October 23.

Previous installations for Bill’s include Worcester and Clink Street (Borough Market) in London.

Experienced industry professional joins Sprint

Sprint Group is continuing its expansion with the appointment of an experienced industry professional.

New sales manager (south) Ian Bryant has two decades’ experience of the sector with The Carford Group and Brakes Catering Equipment.

“My role is to identify new opportunities across the south of England, particularly in the hotel and leisure, education and care home sectors,” said Ian, who is based in Dorset.

“I began my career at Carford knocking on doors before working my way through the ranks so I’m looking forward to bringing my knowledge and enthusiasm to Sprint Group.”

Managing director Tom Bartley-Smith added: “I’m delighted to welcome Ian, whose vast experience will further strengthen our team.”

Brasserie Blanc and Albert’s Schloss lift awards

Sprint Group clients Brasserie Blanc and Albert’s Schloss were among the winners at yesterday’s Retailers’ Retailer Awards 2017.

Held at the Guildhall in London, the awards recognise the best companies, concepts and individuals in the pub, late-night bar and restaurant market. Now in their 18th year, the awards are the only ones voted for by the industry’s senior executives.

Brasserie Blanc lifted the Evolution award while Albert’s Schloss was named Best Venue.

Sprint Group installed the kitchen equipment and bar fridges at Albert’s Schloss, a Bohemian pleasure palace in Peter Street, Manchester. The kitchen has its own in-house bakery creating pretzels, cinnamon buns, sourdough loaves and waffles.

Albert’s Schloss was also among the best bar category nominees in the Manchester Evening News CityLife Awards earlier this year.

Young Stags take the field in style

Sprint Group is proud of its ongoing support for young people and we’ve recently added a new activity to our corporate social responsibility portfolio.

Alongside Worcestershire-based motocross rider Casey Buckley, we are now supporting Rossendale Valley Stags FC Under Eights.

Sprint supplied shirts, shorts and socks for the team, which is enjoying its first season in the East Lancashire Football Alliance Junior Football League.

Among the Stags line-up is Ozzy McGowan, the son of Sprint catering engineer Adrian McGowan, who covers the North West region.

We would like to wish the team success for the remainder of the season and beyond.

Good luck to Sheep and Albert’s Schloss

Everyone at Sprint Group HQ is keeping their fingers crossed for clients Sheep on Sheep Street and Albert’s Schloss, who have been nominated for prestigious industry awards.

Located in the Cotswolds town of Stow-on-the-Wold, Sheep on Sheep Street (pictured above) is a finalist in the Best New Pub award category in The Publican Awards 2017, run by The Morning Advertiser. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London in March.

General manager at Sheep on Sheep Street, Anna Asimakoploulou, said “We are thrilled to be shortlisted for two Publican Awards. The Sheep is really different to most other pubs in the area; our design is contemporary and quirky and our food, including our wood-fired pizzas, more suited to the casual dining which customers are looking for.”

Also in the running for a top award is hip Manchester venue Albert’s Schloss, shortlisted in the Best Bar category in the Manchester Evening News CityLife Awards.

Sprint installed the kitchen equipment and bar fridges at the palatial Bohemian pleasure palace in Peter Street.

The kitchen has its own in-house bakery creating pretzels, cinnamon buns, sourdough loaves and waffles. Capable of handling more than 1,000 covers a day, the kitchen also boasts specialist cooking kit such as a 215-litre stock pot to create the basis for reduction sauces for many of the Germanic dishes being served.

Voting for the CityLife Awards closes on January 26 and the awards will be presented on January 30.

Casey leads the way

Kidderminster motorcross rider Casey Buckley, who is sponsored by Sprint Group, continues to go great guns in the Wilden MX Club winter championship.

In his latest weekend of racing, Casey finished third overall. However, as the top three riders didn’t compete, Casey is now the championship leader.

Many thanks to Casey’s mum Lorraine and his fiancee Kirstie Rollason for keeping us updated on his progress and supplying the action photos.

Flight Club aims for award bullseye

Congratulations to Sprint Group client Flight Club, who have been shortlisted in this year’s prized London Venue Awards.

The Shoreditch-based venue is among six contenders in the best new or refurbished venue in the category. The winner will be announced at the Emirates Stadium on October 14.

The London Venue Awards were launched last year to recognise and reward excellence. The diversity of venues in the running ranges from boats to ballrooms, restaurants to rooftops and museums to marquees.

As Bullseye host Jim Bowen would say: “Great, smashing, super.”
